Rizado is Bodegas Trenza's most personal and ambitious expression..
It is a signature wine made to express the richness, elegance, and deep character of the Monastrell variety when worked with patience, precision, and respect for the land. Conceived as a personal work, Rizado is a unique interpretation of a traditional variety that comes to life through a meticulous approach at every stage of the process.
The grapes that give rise to Rizado were harvestedmanually on October 7, 2020, selected carefully in old vineyards transported in small 15 kg boxes to preserve their integrity. Upon arrival at the warehouse, they were cooled to 4°C for 24 hours., favoring a more delicate maceration and a controlled extraction of aromas and color. The selection was twofold: a specialized team chose clusters of exceptional quality, of which only 50% were destemmed; the remainder was fermented with whole clusters to contribute complexity, freshness, and a natural structure to the wine.
Alcoholic fermentation was carried out directly in 500-liter French oak barrels, where manual punch-downs were also performed two to four times daily for 18 days., allowing for a slow and respectful extraction of phenolic compounds. Once this process was finished, the wine was pressed and returned to the same barrels to undergo spontaneous malolactic fermentation.
Rizado remained in these large-volume barrels for 24 months, slowly refining itself, developing layers of depth and complexity that today are revealed in a rounded, harmonic, and singular wine. It is the result of a clear vision: to create an exceptional Monastrell that speaks of the terroir, the know-how, and the unique identity of Bodegas Trenza.
A wine with soul, conceived to leave its mark.
