Palacio de Villachica Selected Vintage comes from carefully cultivated vineyards in the areas of Gumiel de Izán and Hontoria, in the heart of the Ribera del Duero. The harvest is carried out manually, selecting the best bunches, which are transported in palots to preserve its full quality.
In the winery, the grapes are subjected to a precise mechanical selection. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel at controlled temperature, and the malolactic fermentation takes place in concrete deposits, which provides smoothness and balance. The wine is aged for a minimum of 12 months in French oak barrels, before being bottled, where its refinement ends to reach its full expression.
The add was marked by a dry climate and two heat waves, but thanks to the abundant rains of the previous year, the vineyard showed admirable resistance. The result: an exceptional harvest, the result of the contrast between two climatically opposite years, which gave rise to a wine with character, depth, and natural balance.
